Key Features

Our Youth Leadership Development programs are designed to empower the next generation of changemakers in the fields of mental health literacy and advocacy, environmental conservation advocacy, and the promotion of the CRPD (Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through immersive leadership boot camps, mentorship opportunities, and networking events, we connect young leaders with experts across these vital areas. Participants gain essential skills in strategic thinking, effective communication, and project management, equipping them to address societal challenges, advocate for inclusivity, and champion sustainable development. Our programs inspire youth to lead with integrity, drive innovation, and build a more inclusive and sustainable future for all.

Our Environmental Conservation Efforts are closely aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being). By focusing on preserving Kenyaโ€™s rich biodiversity and promoting sustainable living, we not only protect natural habitats but also enhance the mental well-being of communities. Engaging in reforestation, wildlife protection, and waste management projects fosters a sense of purpose, community connection, and resilience, which are vital for mental health.

Through educational workshops and advocacy campaigns, we raise awareness about the interconnection between environmental health and mental well-being, promoting eco-friendly practices that reduce environmental stressors. Our aim is to build a culture of environmental stewardship that nurtures both the planet and the mental well-being of future generations. By protecting our environment, we contribute to healthier, more sustainable, and mentally resilient.

Our Programs

The Stronger Magazine is an informative platform on matters of mental health, Lived Experience, Stories of Resilience, and Psychosocial Disability Rights.

This Magazine’s aim and goal are to strengthen the capacity of advocacy and public awareness through contributions from persons with Lived Experience who share their stories, knowledge and insight into relevant topics about mental health and psychosocial disabilities.

The Stronger Magazine won the Stronger Project Kenya, the Ember Mental Health Creative Fellowship Award in 2022. As the first-ever winner, Globally!

We have successfully distributed more than 500 copies of the Stronger Magazine in Nairobi, Kiambu, Nyeri & Mombasa, Ghana, Nigeria, USA and Germany.

The Lived Experience Leaders aims to strengthen the capacity of youth advocacy leaders who have lived experience with mental illness and those that identify as persons with psychosocial disabilities.

Lived Experience Leaders is based on the core values of the Convention of Rights for Persons with Disabilities. This is because there’s still a gap that challenges the paradigm shift from the medical model to the disability, social model. That looks at the barriers that exist in our communities, policies and practices that ensure social inclusion.

Walk in the park fosters peer support for persons with lived experience. It’s a safe space for us to share challenges and the best practices, and habits that allow us to experience a full and functional life.

It is set up once every two months at the green and serene, Karura Forest Camp Sites in Kiambu Kenya.

Community Peer support in practice.
